Heather Scearce, Founder and Co-owner

Heather directs all membership, client services, and recruiting activities for the business, and is a STOTT certified Pilates Instructor. She began her Pilates practice in 1998 after a car accident left her with a severe back injury. Since then, Pilates has become essential to maintaining her health and her ability to lead an active life.
After a career in corporate training, she decided to pursue a STOTT certification in 2004, the same year she became pregnant. She opened Conscious Body Pilates in March, 2007. Because she received her Pilates training during her own pregnancy and post-partum recovery, she decided to focus her specialty on these populations. She also enjoys working with athletes, those recovering from injury, and those who just want to lose an extra 10 lbs and stay strong and fit.
Her love of Pilates arises out of a natural affinity and love of dance, movement, sports, health and wellness, along with a joy of learning and teaching movement to others. She holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Washington.
Tom Scearce, Co-owner

Tom directs all finance, operations, and marketing activities for the business. He is a grateful “convert-by-marriage” to core-based fitness instruction and uses his training sessions to balance out the ergonomic effects of working at a computer during much of the day. Tom is also the founder of Scearce Market Development, a Seattle-based Sales and Marketing consultancy. Tom holds a Masters in Business Administration and two B.A. Degrees from the University of Washington.
Diana García-Snyder

Diana discovered Pilates as a way to keep herself strong and injury-free so that she could continue her work as a dancer and choreographer. She completed her mat Pilates teacher training in Chicago in 2003 and furthered her studies in Authentic Pilates with Carla Barragán in Seattle in 2005. She received her full Pilates certification at Vitality Pilates and completed her Yoga training at SHAKTI Vinyasa Yoga in Seattle in 2008-2009. Since joining Conscious Body, she has also integrated the STOTT Pilates method into her teaching, allowing her to draw from both classical and contemporary approaches. Diana’s 20 years of professional dance training (ballet and modern dance) gives her an expert eye for movement. Her Yoga background also allows her to integrate effective Yoga stretches into her client’s workouts. She is a patient and thoughtful instructor and enjoys working with beginners, prenatal and post-partum moms, people who work for long hours at their desks, as well as more advanced clients such as dancers and athletes. She holds a Master in Fine Arts in Dance Education and Choreography from the University of Washington, a BFA in Graphic Design and a professional ballet degree from the Royal Academy of Dancing. She is the Co-Founder of DAIPAN Butoh Collective, and enjoys collaborating with artist of many disciplines to create solo dances that integrate western (modern dance) and eastern (Japanese Butoh) forms of dance. When not teaching or performing, she enjoys spending time with her husband Andres.

Kristy Guadalupe

Kristy has been active her whole life. She started playing various team sports at the age of eight. As an adult she worked as a fitness instructor and continued being active by skiing, jogging, working out in the gym and taking group classes. After the birth of her third child she became less active and suffered two minor injuries due to weakness and imbalance. Kristy found Pilates while on a quest to feel better. She is a Stott trained Pilates Instructor and has been teaching private sessions and group classes for two years now. Kristy grew up just across the lake in Bellevue, WA and now lives in Newcastle, WA with her husband and three children ages 15, 12 and 9. She still loves doing Pilates and takes her own private sessions whenever possible. She also loves to take long hilly walks and going on hikes in the summer. Most of her free time is spent driving children around and watching their year round sporting events. Pilates has not only given her more muscular balance, but has helped her to find that balance in life. Her goal is to teach Pilates to people of all ages (from young children to the elderly) in order to save them from the pain of imbalance and misalignment.
Dawn Thomas

Dawn has been involved in the fitness arena for over 15 years. She has worked as a physical trainer and as a group fitness instructor. She became interested in Pilates while undergoing physical therapy and chiropractic care for multiple sports related injuries. She found that while therapy helped with recovery it did not change her body mechanic patterns and her injuries persisted. She loves the mind-body awareness approach that Pilates promotes. She received her certification through a Stott Pilates program at Bodycenter Studios in Fremont, and now is working as a Pilates Instructor.
Dawn grew up in Portland, Oregon. She moved to the Seattle area in 1990 with her husband, Steve. She has twin boys, Devin and Brandon (15 yo). She graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. When she isn’t teaching Pilates or driving her children around to their various sporting events, she spends her free time training for triathlons.
Lauren Masaoka

Lauren is a fully certified Pilates instructor through Balanced Body University. She has worked with an extremely diverse clientele, from an 11 year-old ice skater, to an 81 year-old, to professional athletes and most everything in between. Lauren has loved fitness and movement from the young age of two. She has always been interested in all things active from dance to sports. She grew up in Los Angeles, California where she attended California State University of Northridge and majored in English Literature and Pre-Med. Lauren moved to Washington to be near the rest of her family who own the local chocolate company Oh! Chocolate.
